for teens by teens
Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, we learned early to become self-sufficient through technology. Everything we needed, we ordered online without interacting with other humans, not even our parents.
While it seems innovative to click a button for food delivery, a ride, or laundry service, we didn’t learn how to work with other kids to solve problems. When you don’t learn how to solve problems, especially with other people, it’s hard to learn who you are. And a healthy sense of self and worth is everything.
The source of the current mental health crisis among teens is not a mystery. When we share only our external shells through social media, rather than how we can help each other become better together, it’s simply not healthy.
We started JAR Farms to help other kids build community for each other through peer education in a safe place, while considering our impact on the planet. Everything we do, we must consider how our actions and inactions affect our environment over the longer term. Join us for our Speaker Series, Workshop Series, Life Skills Series and Farm to Table Series.
